What are we even doing this for?

Bringing Personality to the Mats and Beyond

When we set out to create our fightwear brand, we weren’t just looking to make another line of rash guards and shorts—we wanted to bring something different to the Jiu Jitsu community. The sport is filled with great gear, but much of it leans toward a serious, almost stoic aesthetic. While there’s nothing wrong with that, we saw an opportunity to offer something playful, creative, and high-quality—without sacrificing the performance standards that serious athletes expect.

We knew firsthand what makes good gear. As lifelong practitioners and instructors, we’ve spent years training in fightwear that either lacked personality or didn’t hold up to the demands of Jiu Jitsu. Our goal was to create something that combined top-tier functionality with fresh, unique designs—something that felt just as good to wear as it looked.

The Butter Rash Guard & Our Breakthrough with BJJ HQ

One of our first big moments came with the Butter Rash Guard—a design that embodied exactly what we wanted our brand to be: high-performance gear with a sense of humor. We took a chance and pitched it to BJJ HQ, a company known for curating some of the best Jiu Jitsu products out there.

We weren’t sure how they’d respond, but they loved it—so much so that they asked us to send more designs. That was a turning point. It wasn’t just about selling a rash guard; it was about realizing that our vision resonated with people. That moment gave us the confidence to really push forward, experimenting with new designs and expanding our offerings.

Après-Roll: Repping Jiu Jitsu Off the Mats

As our brand evolved, we realized that Jiu Jitsu people don’t just want to rep the sport during training—they want to carry it with them everywhere. That’s where the idea for Après-Roll was born.

A play on words (Après-Roll / Apparel), it’s our take on post-training apparel—designed for that moment when you’ve showered, thrown on a hoodie, and are heading out to grab food with your teammates. Every grappler knows that feeling. Jiu Jitsu is more than just a sport; it’s a lifestyle, and the people who train it love to represent it even when they’re not on the mats.

Most fightwear brands stop at rash guards and shorts, but we wanted to bridge the gap between training gear and everyday apparel. Whether it’s a heavyweight hoodie, a broken-in tee, or joggers that feel perfect after a hard session, Après-Roll is all about blending comfort, style, and BJJ culture into something you’ll actually want to wear outside the gym.

Moving Forward: A Brand That Represents the Jiu Jitsu Community

From our first rash guard to launching Après-Roll, our mission will always been the same: to make Jiu Jitsu gear that’s high-quality, creative, and fun—without compromising performance. We’re here to bring a fresh perspective to the BJJ world, one that embraces the individuality and humor of the people who train it.

Thanks for rolling with us. This is just the beginning.
